Who is Kenji?

Kenji was conceived through IVF. His EDD was July 2, 2012 but he made his debut at only 24 weeks and 4 days gestation.  He was born on 3/15/2012 at 6:16pm.  He weighed 1lb 5oz and was 11.8in.
Kenji was in the NICU for 191 days.  He faced countless battles. He has PDA, BPD, a Grade 4 bleed (IVH) in his right brain, and Stage 3 ROP in both eyes (had laser eye surgery to correct both eyes at once). He's had numerous infections (E-coli, UTI, fungual infection, perforations, MRSA, Group B Strep, etc..). His biggest battle was NEC.  NEC is a lethal disease where the intestines loses circulation and they start to die off. Kenji lost 90+% of his bowels due to it and is now known as Short Gut/Bowel (SBS). He will be dependant on IV nutrition (TPN) till he receives a Small Bowel Transplant.
This blog will be dedicated to Kenji's life after the NICU...our journey to getting him a Small Bowel Transplant, etc...
A new chapter in our lives deserves a new blog ;) but why "the Green Paci"?  Well, if you don't know Kenji already...it's because that's his baby...his BFF...for now.  "The Green Paci" cures him in every which way...when he's in pain...when he's mad...when he's sleepy...when he's happy...when he's excited...etc...
The Green Paci is his savior just like the lord.
